What the Christian mystics have through their stripping away and afterwards is faith in God and Jesus as the messiah/Christ, when everything is stripped away Jesus is still needed, and God is still needed, I think the gnostic has dispelled the need for Jesus or God or Christian emptying of self because to them they already are like Jesus or already are God.

Oh, and I did think you were gnostic because you seem to defend gnosticism and have always professed an appreciation and gnostic understanding of the Gospel of Thomas.

' you seem to defend gnosticism '

I also defend animals, yet I am human.

I base my beliefs on rational enquiry rather than external authority.
I accept my beliefs can change in the light of new understanding and insight, and they do.
I form my principles from conscience, thinking and life experiences as best I can.
I hold reverence for the earth and the whole natural system of which we are part, we are the Universe.

I love reading the Gospel of Thomas and many other Teachings from the great Masters.

' Conditioned baggage '

And where does it come from?

If you Google the ' History of Christianity ' you will find your answers WP, including bible references.

It's obvious as Jesus was a Jew and Christians are followers of Jesus.

actually Elohim.

I am mentioned in Exodus chapter 3 is God (Elohim)

also note

Psalms 82:6 "You are gods" (Elohim)

Who is Elohim?
Read Genesis 1:1 - 2:3
God is mentioned. In Hebrew the word used for God is Elohim.

In Genesis 2:4 Yahweh is first introduced.
Check it out in Hebrew.
