Diagnosis, Prognosis and the healing art of Mathematics
So I am trying to learn the difference between diagnosis and prognosis.
Actuarial science and Accountancy.
This is one of the main reasons for studying mathematics in regards to being a doctor for most students as it is how they make money.
General practice involves something more.
One has to be able to solve the diagnosis and prove the prognosis.
For a long time I thought prognosis was the devil's work, but I have come to realise that good prognosis is a necessary part of engaging with others as a doctor.
One needs to be able to inform a patient what the outcome will be if they continue down the path they have taken or are taking.
Proving the prognosis doesn't mean denying the patient choice, it means responding to the patients decisions accurately.
I am still learning the art of both and have a long way to go before I become a general practitioner.
Indeed at present/as of now I can barely make a living for myself, let alone others.
Thank you.
