Power line bug connection with dirty electricity?

Power line bug, or Mains Carrier Transmitter (MCX), is an eavesdropping device (bug) that uses the power line of a building as its transmission channel.[1][2]

A typical power line bug consist of a small plastic case with a small sensitive microphone that picks up voice conversations many metres away, and is directly connected to a building power line. The power line bug operates by modulates the microphone signals that it picks up on to a carrier above 100 Khz to send back on the mains power line. (note a carrier above 100 Khz avoids detection by most AC gaussmeters). The other half of the bug is the power line bug receiver which can receive and demodulate the audio signal from the carrier from outside of the building.[3][4]

during the 1970's and 1980's power line communication was used widely for intercoms and baby monitoring systems and became a well known device to use for eavesdropping. During this time, power line bugs first became available with relatively small transmitters that could be hidden inside a wall socket. The only requirement to eavesdrop on a conversation in another room was to make sure the bug transmitter and bug receiver were connected on the same power circuit, a typical condition where on breaker typical servers multiple electric outlet drop.

Power line bugs were initial defeated using a scanlock 2000 bug detector, initially developed in 1960s (Audiotel Ltd UK.) The Scanlock 2000 was built specifically for demodulating the powerline Mains Carrier (MC).[5]

Power line bugs are difficult to install when the signal is disturbed by switched power supplies or when a mains filter is installed on the line.[6]

Dirty electricity is a low frequency electric current noise (100-100000Hz) that is carried over the electricity wires of homes and office buildings; that is generated by electronic devices, electronic power converters RF equipment or external sources. The noise is carried around the house over the electricity wires and since the frequency is relatively higher the magnetic fields created by these currents mange to be emitted into the room itself and can be measured even 2 meters from the walls, in the middle of the room (compared with 50 or 60 Hz single that can be found and metered usually only very close to the wires, usually note more then half a meter).[citation needed]

Dirty electricity is caused by transient switching on a building power line create by the loading devices when the current is repeatedly interrupted by the load. For Instance, an electrical load such as a Compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), saves energy by turning itself on and off repeatedly, as many as 100,000 times per second, causing transient spikes on a building's power lines called dirty electricity. Since 2014, CFL has become a significant source of transient radiation through the powerlines in homes and buisnesses. Other significant sources of transient radiation include the ballast or transformers for enery-efficent lights.

Research from Trent University in Ontario[citation needed] suggests that exposure to transient radiation from the power lines may elevate blood sugar levels among people with diabetes and prediabetes and that people with multiple sclerosis improve their balance and have fewer tremors after just a few days in a transient-free environment. Transients are particularly insidious because they accumulate and strengthen, their frequency reaching into the dangerous RF range. Because they travel along home and utility wiring, your neighbor's energy choices will affect the electrical pollution in your house. In other words, a CFL illuminating a porch down the block can send transients into your bedroom.
Case studies

In 2009 there were reports of abnormally high rates of sickness and cancer among the teachers in a La Quinta, California High school. Researcher Magda Havas was able to prove that these sickness were the result of transients on the power supply called dirty electricity. Her research reveiled that transients may elevate blood sugar levels among people with diabetes and prediabetes and that people with multiple sclerosis improve their balance and have fewer tremors after just a few days in a transient- free environment. Her work also shows that after schools installed filters to clean up electrical transients, two-thirds of teachers reported improvement in symptoms that had been plaguing them, including headache, dry eye, facial flushing, asthma, skin irritation, and depression.
