Theories on what exactly shadow people are?

'Heartless' in Kingdom Hearts are based on shadow people I believe...

They are daemons or to be more exact they are raphah's (plural Rephaim).

If they are male they are often seen as wraiths. If they are female they are seen as banshees.

Weaker raphah's can be seen as shades.

These spirits are damned to traverse this world until Judgment Day.

People who are possessed by these entities can often see them hooked to their host body during a OOBE.

I saw two earlier this year, sitting (or appearing to) on a patio chair. It gave me a good sized jolt, but the fear faded fast. They were conical, dark gray with darker "eye" areas. They did not move an inch and just stared at me. I felt no emotion or communication from them. Carlos Castaneda called them "inorganic beings" and said they wanted to use our energy in their world.. I have not seen them since.

I don't know what they are. But I saw some when I was very depressed. I saw them twice which is more than enough. A friend who knows more about them told me if you see them more than twice its really not good.
I know there are sereval types of them. The most dangerous ones are the hat men.

I am also thinking I may have just been stressed out/delusional but many people saw these creatures before. I haven't seen any for years though.
