How to do readings

I'd like to learn how to do gemstone/crystal readings, how do I do them? I'll make a list of the stones I've already got (quite a few) but do I need any specific gemstones and how do I actually do all the readings?

Any advice? I have never done any reading before so am a complete amateur ...
