they are all 3D spherical or star shaped or both together . viewed from certain angles they do present some intriguing 2D shots though, don't they ?  . and if the one you saw as 2d is the one with the deep-sky-blue background, that is the scale model for the giant one (but the giant one has legs added).

Yes, and that's the merkabah (two tetrahedra) that Uhmar so astutely recognized. The 'guy' is my wife , and this one is my first effort at making a big one for the new place we're at, that has room for large things in the yard . It is made of galvanized -steel electrical conduit and pipe, welded together to form the straight-sided , star-shaped interior . The outer spherical wire shell is made of round aluminum rods which are held together by tension and Tinkertoy-like hubs that are bolted to the tips of the merkabah. |

Awesome piece. I frequented an outdoor festival the last few years that I could see these at. Could you get me a cost on a large one? It's something I'd like to have on my land someday.
