Can emotions be classed as a guide

hiya all,

A simple thought, can emotions really be classed as a guide? I believe they are because when we feel the need to do something in reasoning emotionally that emotion guides us, however it isnt always good at guiding. Joy can guide us to spread it around and do happy things, anger can guide us to violent action if its strong enough. So what do you think, can we class emotions as guides of some sort?

I believe both yes and no for the simple fact that you can say that it is yourself that guides you by the emotions you have.
