Cleansing Crystals

Okay so I recently have gotten into crystals and I keep reading and hearing about how you need to cleanse and charge crystals but I pretty much ignored the idea of that really being necessary.

I have collected approximately 15 or so crystals and I have now noticed that I don't really feel much from them anymore. Every now and then I feel a slight vibration of energy but I can't tell if I have just moved on and no longer seek the energy of those crystals or if they really do need to be "cleansed" and "charged".

I'm willing to give it a shot and I know there are sooo many different ways to do this.

Maybe you can help me with some of these questions:

1. How do you cleanse/charge your crystals?
2. What is the simplest way to do this?
3. Do you feel a difference once it is done?

hi Latcam. I am sure this topic has been talked about many times and there are probably threads devoted to it buried somewhere, but I welcome new threads personally so I am gonna add what little to it I can.

there are some really knowledgeable and attuned people here so hopefully they can satisfy your questions better, but I want to share what I learned or realized about crystal cleansing.
After seeing so many books and videos and suggestions by people about how to clear crystals, it became apparent that almost any natural conscious act can do it. That includes human interaction and all sorts of earthly activity and objects.

you've likely heard of many of these methods, so I just think it's important and cool to realize the simplicity of it. some of the ways to cleanse your crystals are as follows:

water, especially running water, best would be a natural body like ocean or waterfall
salt, can be combined in a dish with water if it won't harm the crystal delicacy
dirt or the ground, grass, flowerbed, plants, trees etc
on or with other crystals
sun
moon
stars
fresh air or outside in general
incense
sage
other herbs, fresh, dried, or the smoke of
essential oils
sound of many sorts
human breath
human mind and positive intentions


So as you can see, almost anything natural and pure has the potential to clear and charge crystals. I mean I don't know a lot about charging, but I think they can be cleansed and charged with some of these methods, especially human intention since we can use our mind, heart and spirit or whatever to both clear the crystals and charge them with new positive purposes, if we choose to do that.

I am not that aware of the actual connections with crystals and can't feel or sense them like a lot of others can, I just intuitively hang out with them and do feel like they can feel sort of 'dirty' or whatever and the thing I usually do is just wash them underneath the faucet. I also store mine tons together so I guess they are cleansing and getting more powerful by all being together too. I feel much better after I've washed a crystal and hold it or have it near me, but I'm not in-tune enough to really be able to discuss or define the phenomena that is occurring lol. I do know that in general things of nature, including human activity, are sources of negative ions, so that is one of the phenomena that is involved with earth healing and crystals working and stuff. things apparently work best in their purest or most original natural state, so that helps explains why it's good to cleanse crystals. there are really many more ways to support your crystals though, especially when it comes to charging too. like if you place a crystal on a piece of art that you love, I imagine that would even help make it more powerful and peacefully able to fulfill its purpose. Humans heal with all of our senses, so if we can use them in ways with crystals too there's likely possible benefit

I'm personally a fan of using either my singing bowl, or some type of cleansing incense.

Sage, Palecento and other herbal smudging remedies are usually what I do. I also have a celenite slab. Putting a crystal on or near a celenite will cleanse it and clear it quickly. Usually 5 to 10 minutes. Can take longer if there are serious powers dwelling within.
