A Thought
A thought passes up through my mind
I watch it shift and change shapes
Bubbling up from the depth of my being
Some lightly tied to good feelings
I welcome them in silent wonder
Some darker they have another pull
I look in the mirror they are not me!
Turn the page and start a new chapter
You can't dwell in the past for too long
Or your thoughts will come to lead you away
On into the future
Your thoughts are ready
To walk you down the road
Change your direction
Watch as you go

I think that most people are a bit crazy but that defines us as humans. We can get crazy and then stand back and just look at it.
Crazy shows us there is sanity to fall back on  . |

I was taught by a meditation instructor that you can't stop thinking but being aware of your thoughts and connecting with the witness is key
Also, I was taught not to flee from bad feelings but try to learn to sit with them and calmly watch them as they pass. Same goes to good feelings, the thing to an enlightened mind is to be in control of where our attention moves. |
