JJK is most certainly is no new age guru selling platitudes

and quick fixes.

Tolle is a teddy bear while JK is a dragon....yet they have a similar message

His books are easier to follow, at one's own pace.

For "entertainment" try UG Krishnamurti

the George Carlin of "gurus" ..... or Lenny Bruce

Not specially funny but as "cynical" as they come, brilliant and one of a kind.

One sometimes wonder when he's toying with us and when he's serious. Yet both Krishnamurti's deal with clarity and being in the

present... JK seems to encourage examination while UG talks about being- acceptance

Well he had a good teacher in JJ and he took cantancerous to the next level. Also don't forget Bob Krishnamurti, although he did nothing much of note in the area of spirituality he runs a fine Pizza establishment in rural Queensland.

Here you go, this is simply one to bolster the post count. If you can get Whiteshaman on deck you will break the ton at least!!

That was a silly trolling title IMO ....

They both deserve respect, and if someone knows-understands better they should write their own book.

JK was groomed to have been a world teacher but he rejected having a following and vigorously insisted people do their own internal investigation.
Sure he wrote books, lectured, but never accepted the guru-devotee relationaship, to the best of my knowledge.

Annie Besant felt-predicted he was to be the vehicle for Maitreya ..
His is a pretty interesting story.

Don't close the book on it Henri. These things have a way of turning on a dime.

I've kinda had my fill of philosophy anyway, and leave that to others with a genuine taste-hunger for it.

Tolle opened a door to stillness, for me, and JK raised interesting questions, but my "answers" won't be found in books or discourse.
Or language for that matter.

UG Krishnamurti was a warrior ,not a philosopher, a slayer of beliefs.
Lobbing grenades against gurus and most everything else ...
Actually like Socrates he tossed the responsibility back on the questioner.
