Do you use the astral to fill gaps in your knowledge ?

I'm specifically referring to history, and time periods of the earth.
Do you go to say, the period of 1500's or 1800's to see how things unfolded there ? With certain key figures in history ?

When I finally get around to dedicating myself to trying AP, I will be very keen in learning more about lots of things. And time travel is definitely something I've always been highly passionate about!

The astral is not a reenactment of the physical dimension. It is its own dimension with its own history, its own time, and its own periods. Do you to go New York to learn about Texas? No. You go to New York to learn about New York and you go to Texas to learn about Texas. In other words you learn about the astral when you go the astral. Sometimes something you learn about the astral makes something in the physical dimension make more sense, but that is primarily because dimensions are connected to an extent. But that connection most certainly does not mean the astral is just a big reenactment of the physical dimension playing over and over. You can experience areas of the astral that are reminiscent of a different time period on Earth, but the history you learn would be astral history and not physical Earth history. It's not technically time travel because in the astral image is not static as it is in the physical dimension. Meaning at any whim they can change the environment and their own appearance to look like it is from a different period, but technically speaking time has not changed. They do this often for events and things of that nature - it's fun for them. They have entire zones that are manifested to look from a different time period as well, they often do real life roleplaying in those areas which is where they manifest weapons, beings, creatures, etc. and play games with them similar to a video game.

You take the same silver cord from incarnation to incarnation,when you finally die to this earthly life " in the here and now " you keep the same silver cord,it is the base of the cord that retains the past life incarnations,your new life carries with it everything that was learned in each previous incarnation!
The base of the cord is very thick,maybe 1 to 1½ inches in diameter,I have seen it twice,from the crown and the solar plexus,it resides in the heart,always try to meditate on the heart chakra,never kundalini,the kundalini can only safely be raised under the supervision of a highly trained entity,or by an ascended Master.
Concentrate only on the heart chakra,especially a novice or beginner.
Meditation on the heart chakra will propel you onward and upward quicker than any other chakra,please believe me, leave kundalini alone,it will look after itself!
