Humming birds/Yellow jackets
Was just outside and fixing a hummingbird feeder which was taken over by yellow jackets who love sugar water.
The age of my feeder had worn down the plastic yellow flowers from which the hummers fed, they fell out and now the yellow jackets were prime feeders who threatened the hummers away.
So to keep the yellows away I placed a red flower feeder with 1/8 inch holes in each old feeder hole which now no longer is big enough to let the yellow jackets in.
As I just looked out now there are several yellow jackets on the feeder, but unable to eat/drink.
So, I made a nature choice favoring birds over bugs. The yellow jackets are still fun to look at, from afar, in the past now.
Come hummers... so I'll sit and watch awhile.
