Bunny Sacred Dark

Everybody hates the darkness.
Everyone.

I was brought up in a religion that taught the sacredness of darkness. For long darkness has been an abode and sanctuary; a place of rest, meditation, spirit, and magick.

For me light was where everyday life was both with its work and play. But darkness for me was where I gained the power to sustain light. It was where light was born and where light eventually returned to at the end.

But the world taught differently.
They saw darkness as chaos, sterility and despair.
The shadow self was always bad and repressed and socially evil.
For them darkness was destruction.

They projected their fears and hates and ignorance into darkness.
Instead of seeing darkness as home, they feared it as an unknown.

Slowly I've begun taking in that view of the dark. Through their culture, their indoctrination, and their hypnosis I listened to them. I fought consciously to defy their dichotomy but they influenced me.

No longer was darkness a place of harmony, balance, and purity. It soon took on the same shape of destruction, guilt, hate, fear. and even boredom that they saw it was.

I quickly began to see light as evil, an antithesis to the glorious darkness that corrupted all things. My life became a war between the light beings and myself who fought for the truth within the dark. It was not long before I realized that by fighting them I actually succumbed to them.

I became exactly what they want me to become.
A recess of nothingness out of which nothing but nothing is born.

I give up.

Darkness is still sacred, but I give up seeing the light as evil.
I give up fighting the light.

But I refuse to see it as sacred.
Instead light is profoundly ordinary.
The sacred dark has created the ordinary light and it is just as beautiful.

God, who has existed before light, remains within the dark
but has created light and loves it so.

I will follow the same path.

If anyone sees darkness as evil and speaks of it so then it is their own doing.
The same would go for light.

But I pray that the sacred dark would find even them and give them unconditional love.

So you may pray that I will regain the light.

Light and dark are but opposite sides of the same coin. They require the other to exist for comparison, yet neither is superior or inferior to the other.

Night gives way to day which becomes night again. It's part of an endless cycle.

Esoteric means 'that which is hidden' as the darkness is hidden by the light, so light is hidden in darkness.

Sometimes we need to embrace the darkness within to find the light, or embrace the light to find the darkness.

God exists outside or beyond the duality of light and dark or good and evil. God is the coin and the space from which all duality issues forth.

The goal is not to dwell on either the light nor the dark, but to notice the 'shades of grey' or the graduation of light and darkness to find that which exists beyond all mental constructs and natural laws.
