I've haven't been on this forum for a few days, Noble Knight, and returned to find this inspiring thread. It has produced many good replies, too. Thank you so much for posting!

Kim Sheridan is very well known through the books which she written. The only sad thing for me is that some "animal communicators" charge fees, sell books for profit, etc.

Years ago, I had to put one of my dogs down. The next day she came to "see" me just to let me know she was ok.
If there are no animals in heaven then I don't want go there.

Thank you, dear Peter.

I know what you mean. As if the honour of receiving such a gift is not enough for them....

All 'your' beloved pets will be there when you pass over. The love bond is the same for animals as it is for people.

And as I've mentioned, as communication in the spirit world is through the medium of thought transference you will be able 'talk' with them!
And love from an animal in spirit can be felt, the radiation of emotional energy.

I think my pet dog that passed away about twenty years ago has become my guide.

I believe you! Animal souls are no different from human souls, despite what some organised religions may tell you.

Our beloved cats have returned on and off over the years. Sometimes I see or sense them and sometimes my kids do. Even my skeptic husband saw the shadow of one of our cats for 2 weeks after she passed. Our cat Milo was sick for awhile and Haoma, who did a healing for him was able to pick up another cat of ours that died years ago. Our pets are family and are concerned with events on this earthly plane.

We fostered 3, 5 week old kittens several years ago. 2 of their siblings had already perished at the shelter. We affectionately named the rest Fluffy, Scruffy, and Blackie. Friends adopted Flutty and Scruffy but Blackie unfortunately got very sick (congenital kidney failure) and the vet could not save her. My daughter's spirit protector took her under her wings. For me it was closure and I'm so thankful that she decided to stay with our family.

'Far beyond, she had seen great forests and heard the call of monkeys.
On what is called 'the mount of freedom', a beautiful, mountainous landscape, she saw some of the 'wild' animals which had become individualised through contact with humans, all now at peace with one another.
She was shown Elsa the lioness leaping down from a rock to the river bank.
Many, many people in their varied spirit robes went about tending the animals, or visiting their own special friends.

Very many animals, of course, are living with the people they loved and who loved them, in other spheres. Our friend John has his spaniel, my husband's grandmother her dogs and horses, and we have just learned that Rudolf, our friend's cat recently passed over, is keeping our friend's mother company, an old lady who just preceded him into spirit life.

The knowledge that our loved and faithful friends are contentedly waiting to greet us is wonderful indeed. But this knowledge also forces us to take stock of our behaviour to all animals, and perhaps think much more deeply about our personal responsibility for their welfare, evolution, individualisation and happiness.
And this in turn makes us take another look at what we eat and what we wear, for all creation is one, all part of the Divine Spirit and the Law of that spirit is LOVE.'

- Peggy Mason (From 'Tales Of Two Worlds')

I hadn't read that before, noble Knight. One to add to my reading list!

For those who haven't seen it before, there is a famous poem called "Rainbow Bridge", which exists in different versions. The author is, sadly, unknown. Here it is:

Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth
It is called Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours

Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows,
hills, valleys with lush green grass

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this special place
There is always food and water and warm spring weather

The old and frail are young again
Those who are maimed are made whole again

They play all day with each other
There is only one thing missing

They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth
So each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up !

The nose twitches !
The ears are up !
The eyes are staring !
And this one suddenly runs from the group !

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her into your arms and embrace
your face is kissed again and again,
and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated
