Meditation to hear God?

you just keep focus on your meditation, it all depends on your focus and belief. Try doing it with deep concentration and try to feel and listen inner voice, it may take time but this voice will be the voice of god.

You can hear his voice, even if not meditating.

You just need to be in a state to receive his messages and be willing to hear only this, and not the ones which you sent out to hear.

This means, not listening to anybody around you.

The best thing to do, is, to ask immediate questions.

Like, pointing the question to the universe : (imagine you are talking with the universe)

"How can i clearly hear God's Voice now ?"

Then wait, if you can forget about the question.

The answer you will understand, but it may take a while (up to a week or 2) to come through. (not that it takes that long, but it takes you that long to understand)

Edit: The answer may not come as expected. As i don't know your Path which you are going through, then the answer may come as disturbing experiences.
Watch closely when anything negative happens, it may be a sign of why you can't hear him.

Do you think you are going to hear God speak with your ears and there will be a timeframe involved?

God speaks directly to your heart and it needs to be open first to recieve His words.

These words will be like your own thoughts, but you will know them as originating from a place outside your own 'mindspace' and having a whole-body 'feel' to them.

These thoughts/words will only be positive, helpful and full of love (but occasionally sick humour, dry wit and scorn will set in) and only God knows how to tell me off lovingly - no human has earned that right. lol

That's how you know you've got a direct line, my friend...you hear it, feel it, heart beats through your chest and you're soaked in sweat and tears at the end of it.

I 'talk to God' quite often now...yep, I have full convos with God.

What does it take? three words "I love You".

It's been two days of playing Go with Him (He takes a long time to move) and I thought I was winning...up until His army of angelic icons outsmarted me in the end...

I know a lady who is not into spiritualaity, metaphysics or esoteric anything.

She is just a family woman and a church goer. Reads the Bible all the time. The epitome of a "good Christian woman".

I wrote on Facebook about a message I got in dream regarding the pronunciation of "Job's" name. She then messaged me and told me she receives messages directly from the almighty all the time.

Whatever religion you are in...get into it.

Kralaro, can't remember if you have investigated Kriya Yoga techniques yet.
Over and over Yogananda talks about the fast way to experience God...
the scientific way...using these techniques, mainly in breathing.
Self-realization Fellowship can lead you to how to learn them.

So am i supposed to sit still or supposed to do kriya yoga? As far as i know about kriya yoga is that it's spinal breathing.

I think it is individual.
What about meditation about a name of a God, like it do as some Bhaktiyogis. See for example Ramakrishna and his vison mother Kali.
