Difference between pantheism and pandeism? what is Tao?

  • Pantheism is the belief that reality is identical with divinity,[1] or that all-things compose an all-encompassing, immanent god.[2] Pantheist belief does not recognize a distinct personal anthropomorphic god
  • Pandeism (or pan-deism) holds that the creator deity became the universe (pantheism) and ceased to exist as a separate and conscious entity

I fail to find the difference :/

Also What is Tao in taoism?

The definitions provided do not seem to offer an obvious distinction.

Some people think in terms of God immanent and God transcendent. God immanent is present throughout Creation. God transcendent is beyond Creation.

Religions such as Christianity tend towards God transcendent, or God standing above Creation and observing it all. They struggle to accept that all of Creation might be Divine, even the naughty bits.

We can consider the Divine as being both immanent and transcendent. The Divine is present in all things and yet remains untouched by any of it.

What is the Tao? As is often quoted, the Tao that can be described is not the eternal Tao. Perhaps we can consider the Tao as the emptiness which allows all things to be. By becoming empty in ourselves, we too allow all things to be.

Taoism teaches the concept of wu wei, or doing by non-doing. Wu wei is the effortless flow of actions in alignment with the cycles of Creation.

Peace.

Pandeism is not much different from pantheism except the pandeist God stepped away from the universe and creation after getting it going, taking no further interest. The pandeist God was never separate from creation. I think it's kind of a paradox... how can something (e.g. pandeist God) ignore itself? Pantheism allows for a personal, interactive God.

The Tao is what exists... it is existence, not unlike the Hindu Brahman. It is the basis of existence. It's actually indescribable, ineffable, unknowable via intellect; it is experiential. Taoism may have been influenced by Advaita Vedanta (Hindu philosophy of non-duality).

The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao;
The name that can be named is not the eternal name.
The nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth.
The named is the mother of ten thousand things.
Tao Te Ching ch. 1
