According to Edgar Cayce, "The mind is the builder."

Yes D, I agree. If the spirit is within the body, it must communicate with the body, through the mind to gain balanced understanding.

^^^ Here is bit of context from something i found on some webpage;

To better understand our bodies, the Cayce readings suggest, we view ourselves as being composed of three parts: a physical body, a mental body, and a spiritual body. Each is separate from the other and, at the same time, they are one and the same thing. Each can be worked with in its own realm and yet they are constantly affecting each other. Change in one is reflected as change in all of them, similar to the integrated “body-mind” continuums now being recognized in science. A premise in the Cayce readings which helps to understand and start working with these components of ourselves is Spirit is the life, Mind is the builder, and the Physical is the result.

Another good post D, I do remember reading this before and in my opinion it is a very good explanation of how it all ties together.

Everytime my emotions become involved, I'm told I'm being irrational. Or that my emotions are clouding the issue or that perhaps my emotions are making me believe things that are fantasy (spiritual experiences that I have had that had major impacts on me...)

Anyway, like I said. A plug for emotionalism to be subject to rationalism.
Well, this is kind of amusing to me because when people go on and on about all the things they learned from their ministers or gurus, I ask them what it means to them in their own life and they are rendered speechless. they say something like, "you aren't supposed to question the teachings of (insert deity)"

If anything, I'd say the people adhering to teachings they don't empiracally understand are the irrational ones.

This is one of the most interesting verses in the Bible. He said to love thy neighbor as thyself, but I find no reference anywhere in the Bible about loving thyself. In fact most of the book seems to promote the idea that we are broken and unworthy. If we truly love our neighbors based on this idea where does that get us?

Don't get me wrong...I strongly believe that Love is the key and that any true expression of Love must begin with self-Love. I just think this concept is lacking in modern religious doctrine.

Well pehaps in the essence of god's mention....perception clouded the creators eyes..in exactly who this god person is.
