Wish I could live in one of Gaudis buildings.
Google our opera house in Sydney. It’s brilliant.

Yes Sydney Opera House is lovely, and is so because of its memorable design. I wonder if there were snooty brickbats about it when it was first built? As for anything unusual, there are people who will think that it’s a load of rubbish. (Usually people who just believe what they read in the paper).

And then you also have the Reichstag in Berlin. Nothing too strange about a cupola, but its distinction is that it’s see-through. This is to reflect the transparency of the democratic process.

Or you could go to Brasilia; a city full of strange buildings.

I don’t know about strange as such, but I have always found the Louvre Pyramid to be really striking. It has an ethereal air about it, helped by the gushing pools of water around its edges.

King Power Mahanakhon in Bangkok, Thailand.
It looks like something I would build after being inspired by the Transformers.

I often think that Trellick Tower in North Kensington, London is a strange building. It’s designed in the Brutalist style popular in the post-war years, and is similar to the Balfron Tower in Poplar, which was by the same architect, Erno Goldfinger.
