There are two types, or processes, of meditation. One type is active and the other is passive;
active meditation involves guided imagery, visulization, contemplation, etc,. and passive meditation
involves letting go of mind, thoughts and any other kind of mental activity, Both are useful.

Visualization and guided imagery can be used for healing and so can passive meditation,
because when we let go the energy of life flows through us freely without interpretation or
being formed into mental constructs. I think it is important to learn how to use our mind;
keep it quiet when you want, and have dynamic visualizations when you want.
They both serve a valuable purpose.
