Water in my hands

I have always known that I have a gift when it comes to water.
I am never happier than when I am in the ocean.
Lately, I have been branching out and acting on this gift. I have become a healer, through lots of practice. I heal people spiritually using the purifying powers of water. I've treated a lot of people with PTSD, depression, and anxiety. So far, I have about a 86% success rate. It's very exciting.

Unfortunately, I am having trouble protecting myself from the negative energy and emotions that are brewing in my patients. They tend to latch onto me like burrs.

Most of my spiritual energy has its physical source in the very center of the palms of my hands (when I'm around someone who has very potent spiritual energy, or in a place that has great power as a sanctuary or place of manifestation or change, my palms tingle), so when I'm finished healing someone I wash my hands in water that I have blessed and prayed over. This certainly helps me feel a little less drained and rattled and /dirty/ after a healing, but there is still a little residual ick.

Does anyone have advice on self-cleansing?
