I think "You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morrisette has a place amongst best breakup songs ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPcyTyilmYY

Blimey, remind me never to incur the wrath of Ms Morissette, that chick sounds like she likes to nurse a grudge! Sums up the bitterness and rage that a lot of people feel post-break-up though, that's for sure

Oh yeah, lomax, can't go wrong with an '80s power ballad! And my goodness, how drop-dead gorgeous is the woman in the video

Speaking of power ballads, here's Marie Fredriksson of Roxette being achingly beautiful:

'It Must Have Been Love'

That feels less like a heartbreak song to me and more like a defiant middle finger to your ex, much like Gem's Alanis Morissette song (although it is coming from a place of heartbreak, deep down, but it's coming through an angry filter which makes the heartbreak harder to detect).
