Singing along with others is good if you are able to get to where they meet if joining a choir is sthg you might like to do. Nowadays I think there are many more choirs who sing together because it is known to be good for you, they welcome all comers, sing all sorts of songs from around the world.

I agree, Animal company also good JB. If you're unable to be able to look after an animal yourself, there are community farms about where you can help to the extent of your ability if you want, or just spend time watching etc.

Some of us have been known to sing to animals as well.!! They are generally curious--some dogs will even join in.--not sure if that's just to drown out sound of said person singing!!

I'm sure you have a wonderful voice Petex.
I remember singing Lord of the Dance in school assembly. A favourite one. Lifted the spirits that!
Now and again if the mood takes me, I'll have a dance too

Hello JB--and all.

Just a note to say "lord of the dance" a favourite of mine also-- as you may have realised from entry currently fourth down on page 6 of this music section.

Also find uplifting from Aaron Copeland "Fanfare for the common man" -if I have recalled title correctly.

Words to "lord of the dance" attributed to Sydney Carter.

Edited.--to correct my mistake in thinking Sydney Carter was one of the founders of a society with the preservation of folk song and dance as its focus. I had him muddled with Cecil Sharp. memory!
