What's your favorite Beatles song and why?

There are so many I could name, but right now I will say a love song goes through my mind "Norweigen Wood". Thinking of the love I feel for someone.

Hey Jude:

My dad used to work on a car production line. This was playing over the speaker one of the days, he said it was just so great when they were all singing it together. Very uplifting.

Mine's always been "Eleanor Rigby". When I was a kid, I just liked how it sounds. When I grew up, it spoke to my heart.

Also one favourite song with The Beatles is impossible, so one favourite song at a time please lolol...and Mull of Kintyre is a really great song too.

Bright are the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love of mine
Will never die
And I love her

Mainly from 1:33-1:45 (the message on what each one takes and gives, a lovely thermodynamic assessment on feelings).

My dad always had the beatles playing. We would go through all the albums and other bands on roadtrips for camping. Very special place in my heart.

This is a tough decision as I sit here and play through songs but "In my life" is number 1!! Look at these lyrics.

There are places I'll remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some have gone, and some remain
All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends, I still can recall
Some are dead, and some are living
In my life, I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life, I'll love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I'll love you more
In my life I'll love you more

Even without the yearning romance or death of a loved one aspect to the lyrics, the song brings feelings of nostalgia and envelopes me in emotion while reflecting on my life.

Magical Mystery Tour. It’s fun and upbeat, and comes from their peak era (Sergeant Pepper). I never used to like Hey Jude, but changed my opinion when I saw Paul McCartney performing it at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics. In that moment, it was a case of sing, and the world sings with you, and the world probably was singing along……with Britain.
