Establishing which shakra's to work on?

Hi All,

I know very little about shakra's, but I know I am healing past emotional trauma. It is very strange how I came to learn I need to heal, but it was through a series of events and synchronicities leading to believe I really need to etch out some of this very old emotional trauma I have sitting deep within me.

My question is, I understand my shakras will be out of synch, but how do you know which ones are? I have no idea.

How do you clear them? Which one do you focus on first?

Thanks

If you're following the traditional use of chakras and etheric energy, there's only one way you can work on them - from the bottom up. If you disrupt the pingala / ida energy flow by cherry picking the ones you think you need to fire up you may worsen your problem. Those are the main channels that cross through the chakras up to Ajna (3rd eye). Give yourself time. Look up "prana". Nothing (genuine) happens instantly here.

As Lorelyn said, first and foremost Ground. If you're bouncing all over without a base, it's a bad place to be. Sound meditations working your way up on the 7 well known chakras is always a good start to get a feel of what you are capable of perceiving. Certain systems advocate working with chakras together even developing your third eye to then interpret what you encounter, but I would suggest you do a little research on google, trust in what feels natural, and see what feels like a fit for you.

Thanks guys.

So if I start at the base, how long should I focus on this area for before moving on to the next?

Do you just know when you are cleared?

Good question. I was wondering if it was better to work from the bottom up or just one random ones at a time. Does anyone have a good link for a beginner in chakra clearing properly?

I love the inverse tree which means you start from the Ajna; since that is your root into the world. It is up there somewhere in your forehead, and gives you perspective. If you have no idea where to start, then start with creating clarity through perspective. When you have that you will know better where / how to heal. I find a Heart centered practice is a good place to start in general, where you rest your attention in your Heart, and let it fill that empty void of silence with beauty and wonder - a place of true healing

I am reading a book, Chakras for Beginners: A Guide to Balancing Your Chakra Energies by David Pond. It is, in my opinion, fantastic! I bought it some time ago but didn't really appreciate it then. It's slow going, not because it's hard to understand, but because there's a lot there. That is my experience, anyway. I was too impatient the first time I read it. Now I'm going slow, absorbing it, and finding it very helpful. I've worked through my lower three chakras and am ready for the heart chakra. But I'm no longer trying to race through them fast as I can.

One thing that Pond says is that you should NOT focus on the chakras you think are out of whack...because you will go too far or not enough. He talks about balancing the chakras before he goes into each one, and that material was very, very good. Again, the first time I read the book, I hurried through that to get to the chakras themselves. Big mistake.

I'm reading my copy on my kindle.

Meditate upon them! I will do that and can feel them, see colors, and even cords that I have with others. I ask the angels and Archangel Michael to help me. Physical pains and discomforts in the body are also good indicators. :)

I'm glad you are following your intutition to heal and reaching out!
