2 Questions: Difference between walk-in and activating your True Self, and...

...are walk-in's/out's consciously aware on an ego level about what happened?

Someone (I won't say who!) recently insinuated that I had a walk-in happen to me, when I found a peregrine falcon in my backyard and underwent a sea-change in my psyche. But the putative 'Old Me' initiated the encounter, and I don't recall any discontinuities in consciousness (just the opposite, the entire thing was seamlessly lucid from start to finish, I can still recall every detail 22 years later). I think that was simply me activating my Higher Self-no Stranger involved, at all. And there were hints in my past that I was capable of this, my Twin Soul kind of sort of predicted it in point of fact 10 years earlier.

And are people who have actual walk-in/outs happen to them aware consciously that it happened?

I am not a walk-in. I have met and talked to ~6 walk-ins about their experience of being a walk-in. They were extremely clear that they were walk-ins. They talked about memories (inherited with the body) though easily remembered were someone else's. They all remember being sent in to the body (at a time well past birth) and none were at all happy about it. I also have not encountered a walk-in case without a significant trauma causing it. Doesn't sound like a walk-in case to me.

Your suggestion that the 'Falcon' just activated you is possible. Its also possible it was some kind of animal spirit that temporarily invaded you. If so the your reaction to that my have triggered the changes you describe.

Advanced note: for those that can see energy, walk-ins are fairly easy to spot as their energy body doesn't move exactly in sync with their physical body.

The spirit born into a body can sometimes be aware of it if it was something they chose, but you would be surprised how often soul exchanges happen against people's wills.

most the time you are not aware of a walk-in. They come and go!! Least with me they do!!

In my Tradition...we call them attachments.

I have known many who have had them...mostly due to physical--or sexual--abuse (mainly as children) and then a journey to the dark-side by means of drugs and alcohol.

It happens when we relinquish self-control.

I have literally seen their eyes change color and heard their voices drop--when the thing riding them was not getting its way.

I've experienced this with strangers and even with those inside my own circle of friends and family--it is more common than people realize.

None of them were aware that they had an attachment.

None of them realized they were being driven to use by these things--except my Son and I believe that is only--because he is able to see them in others--like me.

Attachments do not fully invade the body. Usually they are like parasites, draining the body of vital resources. Though they can exert some control over the primary inhabitant, they don't directly control the body. Length of stay for attachments varies greatly. Some may also return from time to time.

When an entity is able to invade the body and exert some control/ownership directly over the body, it becomes a possession. Note that the original inhabitant remains in the body even if it loose all control.

Only when the original inhabitant leaves, is removed, or is ejected do they become a Walk-in.

IMHO...these beings are like the little red guy sitting on the left shoulder (encouraging them to do things they shouldn't).

As time goes on and the additive behavior progresses...these beings take over--until the host is completely consumed--then they jump to another host.

I have literally spoken to and done battle with these things and seen them looking out at me through the person's eyes.

Heard the voice change...in one case--from the female voice of my best friend to a deep--guttural--masculine voice.

I have even seen the change occur in on-going correspondence.

They are good at hiding--until they are deprived of what they want and need.

In some cultures and Spiritual belief systems--they are referred to as squatters.

This qualifies as attachments in my way of viewing things. They sound like classic energy sucking entities. Note that they don't try to take over the body but rather just drain it. Basically they are feeding.

Nope. In the event of a possession, the original spirit is ejected from the body and sometimes it wanders about oblivious to the fact that it is still alive unless it has a chance to communicate with someone who can say, "Go back to your body."

And when the original spirit leaves and another one takes its place, its a soul exchange, not a walk-in. An example of a walk in is when a spirit might "walk-in" to a living person's energy field to perhaps communicate clearer than they would if they were further away.

wow, that's a completely different set of terminology.

FYI, I have personally witnessed other entities in partial control of a body when the original soul was still in there. I have also witnessed trance mediums get pushed aside but not out by a 'friendly' spirit who came to talk (in the physical by using the body). Clearly the soul is not immediately ejected, however, that does not clarify as what to define as 'possession'.

Even by my definitions, the 'walk-in' term has gotten to include so many phenomena that it has become a nearly non-descriptive word.
