Crow at my Doorstep

Yep. There was a crow at my doorstep. Granted, I've been having lots of crows flying around me lately, and for a while now. But this one was right at my home.

It didn't look at me or anything. Just stood there, cawed for a bit (probably three times, I don't know), and then flew off.

And I'm freaking out. I've been going through a lot with my physical health lately... does this mean it's the end for me?

A black shadow pops up every now and then too. Looks like death sometimes. I try talking to it but I don't get a response.

I guess dying wouldn't be so bad though. I'm very tired anyways.

I thought about how peaceful it would be if it all just ended yesterday. Maybe I'm on my way there, who knows.

Edit: Now many of them are circling around my home. At least 5 or more.

crows can also mean prophecy and good luck. And I found this for you in a web search:

What does it mean when you see a crow?
The crow is associated with the great mysteries of life. If you keep seeing crows around, you need to pay extra attention to the messages they bring. The power sign of this bird brings mysticism. Crows are usually associated with dark omen and death in mythology. It is all how you choose to interpret their meaning.

danni.....why does this have to be a "bad omen"??

Last year a Crow made friends with me. Don't ask me how that happened. I can't remember the first moves that Crow made. I guess it hung about in the tree....or made some beak-clicking noises at me....or just wasn't scared of me or something. Anyway I've forgotten.

But for one year now that Crow has been visiting and we have become friends. He (she?) brought his young fledgling back in May, and now she comes along too. The first Crow will come to see me even when it already knows by now there is only one treat a day. He/she will follow me along the lane when I have to go out, and will wait for my return even one hour later. He/she will come to talk to me by beak-clicking, then just fly off as if to say, "Okay I know there's no food right now, but I like to keep in touch with you and say hello sometimes."

They are intelligent, and once they learn to trust are not scared of us. Yes they are a bit wary, as all wild creatures are but it's a blessing to have such a communication with a wild creature.

I give the Crow and his daughter a treat every morning. They are my friends. I call the first Crow "Koori", and the daughter, "Martha".

I happen to think it's lovely that a Crow came right down to your doorstep.
A thought: if you live in a place where there is colder weather in winter, that Crow may be on the lookout for a treat! They are not stupid, and know humans have food!

I'm sorry to hear about your health. I wish you better health soon. About the crow.... well crows and ravens must be my favorite bird. I would LOVE to have one just there at my doorstep. But I get how they can be perceived differently by most people. I've come to see crows as good omens. Also, scientifically, crows are some of the smartest birds there are, if not the smartest one. Have you ever seen videos about crow intelligence? Simply amazing!! Fascinating. Worth looking up :)

Hi Danni, hoping your health improves, and you begin to feel better.

A single crow or even a murder is not normally a foreteller of death or bad news.

While old folklore and such may have some basis in truth- or not- let's be reasonable we now are not aware of what exactly was meant by these things then. A story I have heard is that when one is sick or passing in the house- family or individual leaves the bedroom of the sick's window open slightly to let the soul depart.

Or a crow coming to the window foretells death. I believe these stories of folklore were based off of certain circumstances. Perhaps when one Individual passed they had a crow come to their window- then that was perceived as crow or raven harboring death. But the true reality here is it is only one's perspective. What you see, a crow coming- as an omen of ill will, or death etc. I see as the creator offering comfort, companionship, and aid by one of his other creations here on earth, animals, birds, insects. You see an omen of illness. I see a gift of companionship and comfort. Changing one's perspective, may help one to feel better already.
