Banshee?

I'm not sure if this is the forum I should be posting this too, so I apologize in advance.
Ever sense I was little I would get awful nightmares, I would see/hear things that others couldnt, an I would get this awful taste in my mouth that tasted like metal. And after a few days or even weeks of this happening, my dreams and "visions"(the things i would see or hear) would come true and it would all go away. My grandmother and father apparently go through similar situations, and so they started calling me "little banshee". I never knew what that meant until I was about 15 years old and finally asked and googled it. I don't know if maybe that is whats wrong with me or if I should look into other explanations. I am Scotch-Irish as well as Native American, I'm not sure if that could help explain things or not..
Again, sorry if this isn't where I should be posting this, I'm quite clueless.
