You should feel proud of yourself, what you have done isnt easy at all. Im so glad you have escaped his brainwashing.

Consider a restaining order to stop his texts.

If you are still having the couple of drinks to relax... I reallly suggest to try AA as while you are having to have drinks to relax, you carry a risk of going back to old ways. It is never safe for a previous alcoholic to be drinking and you are fooling yourself if you are thinking this is okay.

Stress needs to be learnt to be dealt with by other ways (not drugs). Teach yourself healthy methods to relax.

He is a weak man and his only way to feel strong is to dominate and brainwash.

If he has moved back to his home state, he is running because he can no long control and dominate you and he knows it.

You have my prayers for a full recovery. Don't become bitter about this experience but ask, "What did I learn from my time with this man about myself? Nurture yourself now and heal.
