Frankincense odor?

Hello,

For some reason I an not stand frankincense smell - I was wondering what I could mix it with (which other non-estrogenic oil) in order to cover the smell. I was thinking of lemon oil.
Thoughts?

Thanks!

Also, where do you buy your oils from usually?
Thanks

I adore frankincense ... the essential oil is the only authentic scent ... i often wear it and almost every time I do, someone, somewhere, comments on its 'beauty' ... each to his/her own though, naturally

Hi,
It might be fun for you to talk to a Young Living distributor or user to find out why you dislike Frankincense so much.
In other words what does frank. do - what does it heal.

I say this bec of a friend that hated a Young Living essential oil so much bec it smelled like 'rat urine' to her.
I smelled the bottle and only smelled roses.

We found out roses = forgiveness.
(She was taking it due to her blocks in forgiving her dad.)

My mom hated the smell of roses - she never forgave anyone, ever.

I was curious:
Young Living's Frankincense (Boswellia carteri) has a sweet, warm, balsamic aroma that is stimulating and elevating to the mind. Useful for visualizing, improving one's spiritual connection, and centering, it has comforting properties that help focus the mind and overcome stress and despair. Frankincense is considered the holy anointing oil in the Middle East, where it has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years. More recently, it has been used in European and American hospitals and is the subject of substantial research. Frankincense is also a valuable ingredient in skin care products for aging and dry skin. The ancient Egyptians used it in rejuvenation face masks. Frankincense has an approximate ORAC of 6,125 (TE/L). TE/L is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent per liter. How to use: For dietary, topical use or aromatic use. When using as a supplement, dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid such as soy or rice milk. Possible skin sensitivity. If pregnant or under a doctor's care, consult your physician. Dilution recommended for both topical and internal use. Dilute before using on sensitive areas such as the face, neck, genital area, etc. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid using on infants and very small children. Ingredients: Young Living Therapeutic Grade Frankincense essential oil (Boswellia carteri) 100% pure therapeutic-grade essential oil.

My understanding is that it wouldn't matter what we are using it for -
her massage person started using it on her legs and she freaked
-not knowing what this awful smell was..
only to find out later it was for ''forgiveness''...weird, huh?

If I mix frankincense, I use either grapefruit or lemon. Sometimes, if I just need to take the smell down a bit, I will mix it with olive oil to dilute it a bit and make it a little less strong. You could also try Elemi, which has some overlapping benefits (they are in the same family) but is less expensive and a little "sweeter" a smell.

I get my oils from either Young Living or doTerra. I am looking into a few other companies (I'd rather get away from MLM companies if I can do it without sacrificing quality) but am waiting for samples to come in to decide how I feel about it. It's definitely worth spending the extra money to get a high quality oil.
