First I should say, always follow your gut instinct. You should not worry about what others think of you. It will drive you nuts. If he doesn't agree with where your life path is headed, then don't bother spending time to deal with it. If it does not suit you, and your purpose, then don't waste your energy on him. I personally think what others think of me is none of my business. I don't care what others think of me. Follow what you desire. Don't be a follower, be a leader. If you don't care what others think of you, do what you like, be yourself, then you will gain followers. If I were you, I would not waist any of your energy thinking about this person. Follow what your gut says.

With love and compassion,
~Moke~

Why not? What is it that you do want from them instead?

Thanks for your very, very helpful thoughts on the topic!

I looked a little closer at my situation and I think my problem is mainly how to deal with random thoughts that come into my mind.
For example I sit at home reading a book or doing something else and then a thought like "Oh, my friend may be angry at me...he judges me because I don't wanna spend time with him anymore and because I do things he doesn't like" comes to mind and I can't let go of this thought.
Often this thought isn't even true, because I think he has better things to do than thinking about me all the day. But this doesn't make a difference for my mind.

I mean, meditation books always recommend to let thoughts pass by like clouds but seemingly this isn't so easy. Again and again I think about him being angry at me and judging me.

It simply disturbes my concentration and is a big problem in my opinion.

Best Wishes, The Gentleman :)

I agree with you, Gentleman.

Here's a simple practice that shows just How to let thoughts pass by, and more:
