Reiki Master Symbol Question
I recently received a Master attunement from a teacher I had not met before the class. The class and the attunement went well and I definitely felt the shift, but the symbol she provided in class seemed very strange to me. Almost too simple, more like cho ku ray as opposed to han sha ze sho nen. So my question is, can I use the traditional reiki master symbol even though I was attuned using a non-traditional symbol?

yes you can. If you are correctly attuned to level 3 you can use many different types of the master symbol. Reiki is not strong bound to the symbol used by the teacher. Try the traditional symbol and you will see.

It's my understanding that as long as the symbol feels right, it is right to use. Reiki seems to be incredibly lax with its "rules" of symbol use, having the traditional set as more of an offering for possible use if they feel right rather than a requirement. Personally the only symbol I use regularly is Cho Ku Rei, since the others don't feel right for me.
