I dont think its possible to try to forget something, because by trying you are focussing more on it.

Also, its not necessary to forget your body to project. Perhaps the most helpful thing is simply to relax and let yourself drift without any thought or trying.

Hi,
I kind of still feel like it's "me" in my physical body when I AP. I can recognise a transition to feeling lighter and sometimes feel my non-physical arms start to lift by themselves when I'm ready to AP; but it still feels very like my physical body that I'm in. I don't really worry about a physical and non-physical body or having to forget the physical. I think you tend to naturally become aware in the non-physical at the right time. I hope that somehow helps.

Yeah, don't try to forget your body... the point is to disassociate away from it by focusing your attention away from your body.

I do this by doing an exercise called "noticing".

And the exact, detailed method I use is this:

Phasing...
As Frank Kepple put it so beautifully, I'll just copy/paste his words here for you:

Quote:
Phasing describes a controlled process where you phase out of the mode of being open to the Physical world (or C1 consciousness as it's generally termed) and allow your sense of conscious awareness to become open to other realms of reality. There are two basic schools of thought on this, the latest is the Moen-school, and I believe the idea was first touted by Monroe.

It's an act you do pretty much every night of your life... except when you "phase" into a dream (or as I call it, a non-physical dream awareness experience) you've generally lost all conscious awareness.

If you really want to develop AP, thinkgood, it's very helpful to learn more about it and how to handle whatever might come up.

Here's an article on Astral Projection Resources to get your started: http://www.spiritualforums.com/vb/showthread.php?p=32529#post32529

And here's Frank Kepple's phasing description in detail: http://www.astralpulse.com/frankkepple.html
