Movie Game

Yes, I'm afraid so. Another game.

Found a really good game in a Tarot book for exercising the intuitive brain muscle.

After shuffling the deck, pick four cards. (Although I didn't do this for this exercise - I just had the thought that it would be interesting to think of making a movie as you shuffle, to see what sort of cards come up. It's personal preference of course, but just an added idea to spice things up a bit.

Lay them in a straight row.

Each card represents 1/2 hour of a movie.

Now write a paragraph or two (depending how creative you are - I know there are a lot of very good writers on this forum) explaining the movie. For some ideas and a bit of depth, if you wanted to you could add some of the following info:

What is the movie about?
Who is the main character?
Are there any other characters?
What happens in the opening scene?
What challenges are in the movie?
What solution is found?
How does the movie end?
What's the title of the movie?

For example:



"Thanks to the Love of a Woman"

A man named Victor is a very successful property developer. He has a terrible accident causing him to lose the use of his legs. He falls into the pit of despair, drinks, takes drugs, loses his fortune and tries to commit suicide after losing everything. In rehab, he meets a beautiful nurse called Samantha, who helps him get back on his feet (so to speak). They start a relationship and end up getting married. With a newfound love of life, Victor pulls himself back up and restarts his business, which becomes a success. And they live happily ever after ...

It will be interesting to see what movies come up.

'The Angel'

Veronica felt content. She had used all her will against all of life struggles, all bitter emotions, all bitter life experiences. She had thrived and succeeded. She didn't want more, and could die in peace she thought to herself. She wanted a retirement and she began to withdraw. Something felt quite overdone to her.With her withdrawals she began to connect to her memories of childhood. She remembered she would was always surrounded by spirits and could feel them. It was never encouraged by her family members. She remembered the smell of fresh cotton off of her grandmother's sleeve, when she cried herself to sleep on her grandmother's lap one late evening after her parents had found strange scars on her little body and couldn't explain the reason. Now the stored trauma began to haunt her again. She would dream of her childhood every night and she held that feeling of fear. Something was unsettled and she wanted to be in those memories to figure them out. She began to ask for a sign, asking for things to change. Asking to be shown the way for what she hadn't utilized. Her darkness grew and it began to grow deeper. She felt loss of life, and the memories began to haunt her and the injuries of many times and many lifetimes became fresh again. Even death couldn't free her. Old age couldn't free her. She was trapped with something beyond her. One night she heard a cry in her sleep, and she woke up with a start. She saw a white orb and mist by the foot of her bed. She moved out of bed to chase the orb and it had disappeared. There was heartbreak and tiredness inside. She let out a cry and as she tried to held herself back together, something was there that wouldn't leave her. Just them she had the most fantastic glimpse of an angel. She cried as she felt the energy engage her encompass her and held her throughout. She cried for mercy till early hours of the morning for there were many stored memories. There had to be grief and release for now was the time. Her body was held in peace. At that moment she let go all she had learned of life. She hadn't missed a thing. She closed her eyes. There was gripping fear, as body lost control, and something finally overcame her. She was ready to leave , and start a new journey.
Veronica, a renowned author had died in her sleep.

hahaha I just didn't realize it was that long until I posted it :) That was fun btw, thanks Pandora for putting this up. Keeps it interesting and engaging ^-^ Otherwise it becomes same old and this group remains dormant. Good to see someone keeping this alive <3

"Partners in Crime"



Roy and Ben had done time together. When they got out of the clink, they formulated a brilliant armed robbery which they thought couldn't fail.

After carrying out a particularly violent robbery, they hid the loot in the scrub, where the chances of anyone ever finding it were next to none.

At the same time, two women, who had been beaten, raped and kept captive for months by Roy and Ben made a run for it themselves. They had heard Roy and Ben talking about their next plan and knew they weren't included. Rather than risk being murdered, they waited for the ideal opportunity to make their escape, which wasn't easy.

Roy and Ben never got to know what happened to the women they held captive. They hightailed it to Europe where they remain in hiding, waiting for the heat to die down before retrieving their ill gotten gains.

"Grief "

Sheila was a single mom and she had struggled since her husband died in a car accident when her daughter was two years old. She had always suspected her husband was cheating. She even followed him to certain places at night thinking she would catch him, but that never happened. Then he died.
Sheila was out of work and support for many months after. Her family never sympathized with her for marrying a black man. She began to support herself by strip dancing at a night club nearby and began to make a lot of money every night. She continued her career by dancing for many years, until health failed her.
She was left alone forever. Her father died when she was 13 and she had to deal with a step father who had abused her for years, until she fled home.
Roy had entered her life as his daughter's martial art teacher. He was young, handsome and stoic. She never had a serious interest for him and it was all casual until she got pregnant. She had to welcome him into her life and they had troublesome relationship for years. Until she had found out he was cheating on her numerously so she had to quit. Sheila was alone for years since, nothing serious ever happened for her. Except casual relationships that never became serious. She had lost the capacity to be serious for anyone.
Janice her beautiful daughter was 28 years of age now. She had called her in all urgency one day and told her that she had found her half brother. Apparently he was 26 years of age. Sheila was shocked. Her doubts of him cheating were confirmed after all these years. He was apparently cheating on her when Janice was just conceived. It was worse. She heard all from Janice about this boy and his mother who was a Cuban woman. She told Janice that the boy was not welcomed and she better keep that away from the family and her little brother. Sheila had had enough of betrayal in her life, and she didn't want any more people in her family. Janice got upset and blamed her bringing toxic patterns into her life. Apparently all throughout her younger years Roy had been abusing her . As a little girl she was so lost and as an adult she was just as damaged as her mother had been. And now the little hope this boy had promised to give was being taken from her. Sheila was shocked and aggrieved.
Sheila couldn't sleep for days. She couldn't forgive her husband for what he done. She blamed him for everything. She hated him. She felt helpless and betrayed and hurt. She felt sad for her daughter, she felt irresponsible. She was worried for Janice. She was willing to give this boy a chance after all, and welcome him to her family. If Janice was happy, that's all that mattered.
Peter was sweet boy, a shy sensitive kid. He was nothing that Sheila had ever remotely imagined. He was a good kid but he had to prove himself around his daughter.
She felt sad for the children, she felt sad that he was so eager to know about his father. But she had welcomed him and she was happy to finally see Janice smile. Both the kids were lonely and now they had a family.
Sheila couldn't bring herself to feel happy, even when Janice would smile, laugh. Behind all that happiness was such burden of abuse, regrets and failed relationships. She felt a dagger in her heart. Every little impression of normalcy, didn't feel right to her. Something was very off, and it couldn't be consoled ever. She would take her hurt to her grave but she would smile on for her children and survive. She would give her everything till the very end, only because she cared for her family.
