...and yet, if I end up doing "my own thing" contrary to the advice of everyone else who believes they are all enlightened Jnanis, I am treated like a leper.
I don't get it.

Life is very simple to me, sis. (Now.)
Do what makes you feel the best. There, I could stop writing. ;)
Don't care about what others say or think...unless you respect what they have to say and it works for you.
Make a conscious decision to look to whatever puts a smile on your face...
could be a book or as simple as a cup of coffee...and keep that going making a good feeling your priority.
If something, usually a thought, btw, ha --makes you feel bad...
then, stop thinking it.
It's so simple it's hard.
It takes practice, then, it becomes second nature.
And you know what people may think? ---that you're a simpleton.
Who cares, you're the one that's happy, content, at peace and you radiate that.
Reminds me of Neville Goddard's book, "Feeling is the Secret".
And we are in control of our feelings...by controlling thoughts we don't want.
Sounds too simple, I know. The mind loves to complicate things.
But I've done it for years and years.
Take care.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru.

Yes... and sometimes we become stuck in a place that we know deep within our hearts that we don't really belong there...we know it is time to move on, but the happy memories of what once was but are not anymore, holds us back from taking that step...sometimes we prefer to stay with what has served us in the past even though it may no longer be doing so and making us miserable and frustrated...and it takes the actions of another to finally point that out...and it is only then you realise you have outgrown what used to fit, but you don't wish to discard it out of sentimentality... until ultimately you are given no choice and so it becomes better to change your reality on your own terms than having someone else do it for you.
You take care as well.

Jnana useful to quieten & position mind
Garner & assimilate but leave the knower behind
Unfettered awareness free from ego bind
All the doing to be done
Is to internalise attention
In sync with love vibration
Replacing limited thinking
With presence simply feeling
Path to self healing
Identity vaporised, past gone
Conditioning shorn
Here & now reborn!
Choosing joy expansion
Rejecting all contraction
We reclaim bliss elation!

My response to this "presence simply feeling" personal preference indicating post is pretty much the same as the response I posted to another post of yours which I shared in: http://www.spiritualforums.com/vb/sh...11#post1911511
