Is it really possible to sell your soul ?

Or to make a pact with the devil ? We hear about famous artists, actors or high ranking people who supposedly did such a thing so they can be successful and wealthy. What do you think, is it for real or just imagination ?

It depends how you phrase it and whether you believe in god (good) and the devil (evil). Many insidiously do without realising it.

If you regard the modern reckoning of god spreading love throughout the world to those who want to take it, then the devil is doing its work on the planet in the form of materialism, acquisitiveness, and selfishness, seducing the unwary (some would say unawakened) with all kinds of devices that tie them to the earth and keep them away from spiritual refinement. They are conned into believing the stuff they buy, i.e. trade their life-frittering labours for, make them happy and constitute purpose.

They have the choice but the idea relies on a belief in opposing forces of good and evil embodied in those entities. It depends on what individuals consider their purpose (if applicable) and what they think life here is about. Which to choose - freedom to drive your own life or being chained down by the religion of materialism. There's a difference between acquiring what you need to survive and surviving to acquire.

Its one of those things it depends how you look at it. There many artists and musicians who have gone "crazy" and ended up killing themselves or in mental hospitals. I hurd stories of a person who was super smart with an extremely high iq who had a lot of social problems. The way these people act at times one could say they sold there selves to the devil. But maybe they just knew way more than most, Maybe knowing what they did drove them crazy or maybe just because they were so different then the majority. The majority "wanting to be better than the next". Put a label on these people so they had an "exuse" to push them away and glorify themselves. And then there's people who like to play with that fire and play around with the negative. And the well.... you find what you seek.

I think it's kinda similar to what Lorelyen said but also when it comes to the someone becoming a famous artist or actor or whatever (and i was actually just speaking with someone last night who is going through something similar to this at the moment, they where freaking out over it a bit, he didn't even want to discuss it all with me, though his idea was not to be famous but to just get his music out there more, thats what he said but he would like to be famous aswell i think) anyway eventually after meeting a lot of music people he has now ran into masons and he says they keep on harassing him.

What happens is the masons or groups higher up then them will get people who want to be famous and they will get them to do something illegal, some kind of serious crime, which normal involves people under age and they will film it, sometimes they force the people who want to be famous to do this stuff, but once they have you on tape thats it, they own you and you have to listen and do as they say, so you may become famous and get a lot of money but you will be doing there work.

I think it is more a figure of speech but I am not sure if it is literal as well. I have never had such an experience and I also do not know anybody who had sold their soul to the devil.

One cannot sell what they do not own in entirety. Therefore, the answer would be theoretically impossible as a Soul is not owned by an entity solely.

You do not own your soul at all. You are a small piece of your soul. Your soul is a much bigger entity. That would be like your little finger deciding it didn't need the rest of the body and trying to sell it. Does your little finger have the right to sell off any part of the rest of you?
