Hey all,

Okay so basically im quite curious when it comes to anything that is in or touches upon the psychic domain and I have had two astral projection experiences. One was myself flying over a local park and it was so vivid! (the sensation of flying downwards then upwards reminded me of going down a high slope on a roller coaster!) and the second one, well this strikes me as quite...peculiar?.

So I must of been around 11-12 and I remember seeing my future secondary school in the projection and upon starting secondary school, every detail was exactly what I saw! and even stranger, I had NEVER seen my secondary school before starting my first year!.

What causes astral projection?

welcome, im interested in what causes astral projection as well. I have had lucid dreams and OBE's

Hi, I'm in UK too, in the south.
I've no idea what causes astral projection. Some people are born with the ability or it happens when they are children, for some people like myself it suddenly happened later in life. For me I was in my 20's when I had my first OBE. And I'd just had a regular very ordinary day...hadn't drunk alcohol, or taken anything....and the whole thing came as a bit of a surprise, to say the least, especially considering I would laugh at anyone who said they'd been out of body!! And didn't believe in it -or anything much else.

It sounds like you have a natural ability. That's quite impressive, having that projection where you saw your future school, and all the details. Have you had any more projections? Or lucid dreams?

Hello :) I'm in Texas.. I have always wanted to go to the UK! :( One of these days I will get there!

Anyway, back to the subject --- I had my first astral projection when I was a teenager.. I am not sure exactly how to explain what causes it, but when you're in a deep, relaxed state and are able to focus on your breathing, etc, your astral body at one point is able to exit your physical body ... I'm sure Astral Explorer could give you a better explanation.. He seems pretty knowledgeable about the subject as I am learning still myself..
