can you use law of attraction to gain a soul mate or a twin flame? i think what happens is where you ask the universe to bring your soul mate closer, it's like you are creating that thought form and sending it out and the other person would receive it like a random thought that appears out of nowhere which would eventually trigger where you both randomly meet each other, is that that how it works?

would you ask for a soul mate or a twin flame? i think the soul mate relationship is easier overall where as the twin flame one seems hard or intense but it's supposed to make you feel complete but there's talk of increased aniexy and destruction with people around you.

Yes, you can use LoA for anything, so including for a lover. To be clear, every lover / partner is a soulmate.
A Twin Flame... not necessarily. First of, not everyone has to be a Twin Flame, second, you have to be ready for that.
Now a partner is different. No matter where you are, the Universe can always bring you that. Not a Twin Flame cos of reasons mentioned.

best thing to do is work with LoA to get into alignment, which is what it is all about. When you're in alignment you can receive the things you've asked for, including a lover.
Problem is people tend to get in and out of alignment all the time, which makes it more difficult.

As for the other thing, if you send out the energy from alignment it will get to them. If they are ready, and you are too, the Universe will bring things into motion so you will meet.

Abraham Hicks is an amazing teacher in LoA, she doesn’t believe in soulmates or the labels , she believes in vibrational alignment. I recommend you google or YouTube her videos on how to manifest love into your life.

I personally don't think that you can ask for a twin flame and expect one to show up. Like FC said, you have to be ready. They come when you are ready for that much growth, and yes pain also that comes along with it at times. You have to be ready to handle the pain. TFs have specific purposes too, at least that seemed to be the way it was for me. It spring-boarded other aspects of my life into growth as well, it's about a lot more than just you having a romantic relationship. It began my spiritual awakening and put me on the path to do what I am probably supposed to be doing anyway.

You can't look for your tf to make you feel complete. You have to feel complete in and with yourself. That's one thing it will teach you, if you don't already know. I don't know about soulmates, cause we have a lot of different kinds of those, but I'm sure it is possible to attract a relationship, and one that is good.

I've been listening to Esther since end of 2015. I love her! But her view on Twin Flame and Soulmate is one of the few things I feel she's got wrong.
I've had a few more instances over the years that made me think "That just does not make sense at all!"

I sometimes also wonder how much her being of the older generation influences certain things.
Diana Cooper's (78) view on Twin Flames is also weird, and as far as I'm concerned obsolete. What she describes is the way it used to be 10-20 years ago, without taking into account that things have changed and accelerated tremendously, and still are.
Really odd, as she is all about these changes. Her work concerning it is astounding. Except for that subject.

That has made me wonder if the older generation has a blind spot concerning that, either personal filters or...

I have groused about the LOA elsewhere so I will not do so here. IDK whether you can conjure up a SM or TF or not, but I would think the SM or TF would need to be conjuring up you as well. I do believe that reality will reflect externally what is inside of us, not just as a matter of perspective, but in manifest physical ways. However, many people tend to believe that if they can conjure up the right thoughts and bounce them around in their cerebral cortex enough, then the universe will somehow bring it to them. I don't think it is that simple. I think the universe mirrors back that which is deeper within us, beneath the layer of our conscious thoughts. We are far more then those words that bounce around in our heads. I think if one wishes to influence the manifestation within their lives, then working to grow the spirit to gain in integrity with that which one feels is "good" will create a reality on the inside that will be manifested back by the universe. Just like our dreams are often the minds way of conjuring up experiences with which to explore the issues we are dealing with in our daily lives. Life gives us the opportunity to live and experience the karmas that the soul is trying to work through, understand, and grow from.

What you describer there is called wishful thinking, a particularly American form of brain disease, though I don't know where you're from of course.

The idea that you can wish for things and the universe will arrange it for you, because, I don't know, it likes you, or something is a particularly childish and pernicious idea.

That being said, if you go out there, with determination and clear goals, actually working hard to achieve what you want, you will achieve it. The universe seems to be malleable and IS shaped by the human will, if it is strong and determined enough. Force of will can make seemingly impossible things happen and if you go out there with clear and unshakeable determination and won't stop until you find the right person for you, they will "magically" appear eventually. Just know this has nothing to do with LOA or soulmates/twin flames and everything to do with the magnetic power of a human mind fixated on a goal with determination and unshakeable confidence that it will be achieved.
