Yes inner sound. The only time I hear inner sounds is when I am in another dimension. It feels like you are in a dream, yet awake. Your in a delta stage frame of mind. It only happens to me, when I am in another world in my imagination.

I put a seashell to my ear when I want to hear my inner sound .

I hear them anytime I turn my attention to them. They're always here, and so are those other dimensions... even while we're involved in daily activities.
