The Moody Blues

Okay, where's the thread? Oh yeah...here it is! lolz

While everybody else was getting their spiritual inspiration from George and The Beatles, I was too busy listening to these guys!

My favourite songs;

Melancholy Man
The Best Way to Travel
You and Me and
The Word (Om)

So, anybody else like them and what songs do they like? Thanks.

Big fan here. I actually started a MB thread here a couple of years ago or so. In fact here it is right now if you want to look at it.
http://www.spiritualforums.com/vb/sh...ad.php?t=52407

I actually saw them live once a long time ago.

Anyway, they put out a lot of good stuff and I do think there was a spiritual vibe to a lot of their songs.

Ah thank you, I didn't want to go back that far and revive an old thread (certain folk don't like that), so I thought I'd make a fresh one, no worries.

Hey as long as you saw it that's the important thing. I just wanted to post that link here so I wouldn't be obligated to say the same thing or list a bunch of the same songs over again. ;)

My favorite albums by them are On the threshold of a dream, A question of balance, To our children's children and Long Distance Voyager(even though it's a bit later). All of their classic seven(67-72)in particular are really great though.

All their psychedelic stuff.

I like those too.

In my opinion though the only one they did I personally would consider "psychedelic" would be In Search of the Lost Chord. The others would be art rock or something.

Every Good Boy Deserves Favor
fan here . It was my first ...

Played it lots start to finish , and used up the vinyl ages ago. Got the cd maybe 5 years ago , and still listen to some of it pretty regularly .
I do with them what I do with everybody : rip and burn mixes .
Too lazy/busy to convert everything to mp3

I honestly don't think anyone cares. I really don't see any reason why it would be a problem. I've seen it done on other forums lots of times. Being that people on here are enlightened and wouldn't get caught up on something so trivial it shouldn't be an issue here either.

Big fan here. Listened to Days of Future Passed as a child and really liked it. Then listened to In Search of the Lost Chord when i was around 20 years old. I kept thinking how advanced and ahead of their time they were, compared to other artists of the 1960s. Then in December 2014 i REALLY got into them. Got their first 6 albums starting from 1967, which are my favorites. Although Every Good Boy Deserves Favor, i dont like as much as the first 5 because it is much less psychedelic and you can feel that the band are starting to lose their magic. If i had to pick an all time favorite....i dont know it would be a tie between the DOFP, ISOTLC and OTTOAD. Theres a special magic about the final song on Threshold called Have You Heard.....i dont know what it is but it really resonates with me, and i love it when im in a meditative state.

My mother has been an enormous fan of the moodies since they started.
