What Happens to People with Autism or Down Syndrome in the Next Life?

Most of us have this idea that when we pass to spirit, we'll find that our physical ailments and disabilities are left behind along with our physical bodies and that once we're in spirit, our spirit bodies will be 'whole'. Likewise, we believe that people with mental health problems will be of sound mind in spirit, even though they may take some while to adjust.

But what of, say, people who in life have been so severely autistic that they've never even had a chance to be 'normal' at any stage in their earthly lives and who therefore can't go back to normal when they reach the spirit plane? And what of folk who in this life had Down Syndrome? In their own particular way, people with Down Syndrome are perfectly 'normal', so why would they suddenly metamorphose into people they've never previously been when they pass to spirit? Would they not just remain the same easy-going people they were in this life?

And what of people who in this life were deaf, dumb, blind and paralysed right from birth? Would they become newborn babies in the next life and finally be allowed to grow up and become 'normal' adults? Or would they be reincarnated immediately on this plane as newborn babies, so they could go round the system again and be regular folks this time?

yes well most its the other way around they incarnate with these problems for reasons of karma relating to a time before that, that created these reasons or that karma
if life ends its a matter of 'are lessons learned' that where planed or such things

its hard to give a general answer since individual cases differ much

Like all other diseases and disabilities of the body they will disappear after someone has passed over.

The remainder of the questions are each worthy of individual discussion and have often been considered here online and elsewhere. They frequently lead to debate without full agreement about the answers.

I believe since it’s a biological condition, of the physical body....that it does not exist energetically in the afterlife. That’s my opinion anyways.

In the afterlife people are not viewed the way we humans view people here on earth.
What we call a "disability" in this world may be a blessing in disguise in the afterlife.
An as Colorado mentioned, these are biological conditions that may not have
any influence on a soul after they leave their physical body.

There's no point in listening to the views of those who appear to have little more understanding than the questioner!

It's a fundamental that we leave behind us all ailments of the body when we pass over. Teachers and guides have taught this for decades and more. Don't listen to me - listen to them!

I certainly HOPE that in their next life they get to live the kind of life they desperately wished for with all their dreams coming true. But of course that's too much rainbows and fairies stuff, so let's just blame it all on karma shall we

Yes, Autism and other developmental mental health issues are something we understand as diseases or problems. But when you dissect all that Autism is, it is just a neurological brain somewhat behind on functioning. There are plenty of people who exhibit autism like behaviors, but not to the degree or whatever that Autism does. Autism is noted as a spectrum for a reason; there is high functioning all the way to low functioning. Behaviors in autism result from many unwanted stimuli and many autistic children do not know how to or even that it is appropriate to get through the struggle and cope with it. As normal adults exhibit their own coping mechanisms, it is more of a struggle with those who don't have this capability - which is Autism, essentially.

With that tid bit explained, and the belief that discomfort and sicknesses will go away, and if you are assuming that what you learn on earth goes with you to the afterlife... here is my two cents...

Functioning is only a relative concept. Autistic peoples (assuming therapy is involved in their lifetime) have to learn how to function. "Normal" functioning (potty training, adaptive behaviors, social capabilities) is only needed to survive this demanding earthly existence. What is there in heaven or in spiritual dimension that they are not prepared for? They already existed. They just need to function on earth as we want them to. Neurologically speaking, the brain is exercised and probed in therapy to adapt to more normal functioning (relatively dictated on earthly terms). How many times do you hear about the neurological brain being utilized for functioning in the afterlife? Potty training and other behaviors associated with autistic behavior are not held to the same standards as a spiritual life, because they are irrelevant.
