Book1 To learn more

Although I'm new to this, I'm rather fascinated with Tai Chi - more as an aesthetically wonderful form of exercise than anything. Can anyone recommend any good videos to watch, to learn some very basic routines? Even links to good youtube videos, etc, would be welcome. I'm not sure how much can be learned about Tai Chi just from books, since it is so "hands on", but I'd also be interested in reading anything enlightening on the topic.

Thanks,

Arlan

I tried learning from a few videos but I found it too hard pick up the subtle nuances of the techniques, so I found a Kung Fu academy near me who teaches Chen style Tai Chi and it's awesome-Sure, it's relatively expensive but if you find a teacher who knows their stuff you'll also learn the martial applications of the moves and (if you train at a traditional school) you may find that the atmosphere of a school helps to "get in the zone"...$0.02

Hi Arlan,
by all means look at a few u tube tai chi things, but I agree with seeker, its hard to really get into it alone without a teacher. But usually, if you have a look around on google or put the word out and ask folks, its amazing where u can find tai chi teachers. I teach a few folks for free now, just because someone asked me to help them. It shouldnt cost the earth to learn tai chi, it is supposed to be non material. I think if u look around u will find someone. If u want to get a taster of the spiritual benefits it might be easier to look for some simple chi gung exercises on utube, these are easy to learn and have massive health benefits and you will feel your chi if u do them.

Thanks for the advice, seeker89 and peteyzen. You've given me more to think about and follow up on.
