Hmm...I haven't heard about this charlie charlie thing.
Over here kids fad was: - to use a compass(drawing tool) and hold it with small pressure applied so it could go in circles and point one of letters/numbers/yes/no they had written around it.
- or write numbers/letters/yes/no in small square pieces of paper and place around(forming a circle) a glass cup so all participants would hold it and let it "walk" to the answers to question.
- hold a pen softly(or let it lie in hand) and let it write for you
Kids would say to pray before doing it and advise not to do it alone. As a tweener I only engaged in the compass one, but I don't think it really affected me. Neither any so called answers from the other side were accurate.
Anyways most of it(or maybe all of it) was kids cheating, pushing the objects to answers joking with the most gullible and easily frightened friends. But there are also stories of people that claimed to be affected in a bad way by it. Tales of glasses being shattered out of nowhere and something like that, I don't really know anyone that can confirm any of this. However lots of people still will refrain or be afraid of even trying. It's really an old thing and some kids nowadays still try to do it.
In the end, all of these were improvised Ouijas, as I've never seen this board selling anywhere in my country(perhaps it can be found in specialized stores, but is not something common over here).

My son just came to me today because the neighbor kids freaked him out with it this afternoon. They did it in their house. Personally, I don't like the idea of potentially inviting an unwanted guest into my home. I've had enough of unwanted visitors lately. If anyone knows more about this or has anything to report on it, I would like to know.

I didn't really take much consideration into the matter, but be careful when playing. Plain and simple.

I've pretty much heard only bad/dark things happening from people playing around with the ouija board - personally knew one of them - one of my two best friends in school had a dark experience with it and had to have the whole family (13 kids plus parents) stand in a circle and read from the Bible to 'undo' what they did.
