Sand Paper Gallery
I don't have much to hang up in here ... most of my artwork is long gone but I do have a sketch i did about 17 yrs ago of my dad after he died ... it hangs on the wall in my mums flat next door.
I bought myself some oil pastels the other day so when i find a little time to try them out i will probably post my efforts here. During my study around Child Development I was taught that we accept the artist that we are, as children, then as we get older we reach an age where we make an 'artistic decision' and if we decide we cant draw/paint etc we often revert back to simple representational drawings ... anyway this is my first attempt at sketching 'true to life' ... I had to take the pic from an angle to avoid the flash reflecting on the glass ...

Well, I'm really pleased you plucked up the courage as I think it's really really excellent. Your Dad looks like he was a lovely guy.
