Carpel Tunnel
Anything to relieve this or the pain? I first had to deal with it in my early 20s and occasionally over the years, it's paid me an unfortunate visit, but the past week it's acting up awful. The pain keeps me up at night; I have a hard time doing anything where my arm is raised, even typing, the tingling and pain never ceases. Thanks.

B12- sublingual methylcobalmin 3,000mcg 2x day and b complex 100mg 2x day. You should feel better within a week or so pain wise. When pain is completely gone, continue taking b12 1,000mcg daily and a b complex 100mg daily. I developed carpel tunnel in my wrist last summer and the pain in my wrist and thumb would wake me up at night. I even had to get a wrist splint to help with the pain. The b12 and b complex gave me relief within a few days. It took a couple of weeks before the pain resolved completely though. My carpel tunnel wasn't as bad as yours is though. So don't get discourage if it takes a couple of weeks or more before you see relief. Pain will go gradually.

I would say don't rule out energy work. If you were to do it diligently on your entire arm, and really practice building up a lot of relaxing and healing energy there, I think it could make a substantial difference.

Thanks Iolite, I will get some. I used to have B12 sublingual drops. Have to get more.
Ribiq, I'm not familiar with energy work...what can you tell me about it? Thanks!

I would say check out Robert Bruce's youtube page and watch some of his videos on energy work. The basic idea is that instead of approach an ailment from a physical perspective, you affect it instead from a purely energetic/nonphysical side. The physical and the nonphysical influence and interact with each other so much that physical ailments are represented by one's energy body in the form of blockages and other sorts of things. If you get more energy moving to and through affected areas, chances are much greater that problems will improve as a physical reflection of the nonphysical change you are causing.
In Bruce's explanation (as it turns out, a very practical and effective one), energy is concentrated in one area by using tactile bodily awareness, and moved by moving that bodily awareness around your body.

My mum had really bad carpal tunnel in both her wrists. She wore a splint on her right arm for a long time and that seemed to help but it wasn't permanent. She took a lot of anti-inflammatories for it as well. In the end, she had the brief surgery and didn't have trouble with it at all after that - so, while it might not be a more natural remedy, the option is there.

Thanks Kaere. My son had it too and was prescribed Tylenol w/ codeine. It's been getting worse and keeps me up at night. Trying to dry my hair in the more is excruciating. I have a high threshold for pain, but it's gotten to where I have to have my arms down. To grasp or lift my arms, the tingling starts and then goes into full blown pain. I have to constantly shake them out (my hands). I was thinking if it keeps up at this rate, I'd need surgery. I'm not thrilled about that. How long before she could use her hand/arm and do things after the surgery?

It was a long time ago now - I can't even remember if she had both done at the same time. I recall there being a very small incision on each wrist and two, maybe three stitches in each. She felt relief pretty much immediately and I believe the only restrictions were caring for the stitches but I can't remember for sure. She was living with me at the time and I don't recall her needing any special assistance to get through her day.

Yeah, I was reading on it and I don't like the idea of that tendon being severed. I hope it doesn't go that far. I think I've got some other issues going on that are exacerbating the condition. Lots of fluid retention going on and I'm not sure why.
