I have been lucid dreaming since I was about 14yr old but stopped when I got a job at around 18 and didn't practice till if I remember correctly 23 or 24 but when I really started awakening at 26yr old my dreams changed dramatically it was to the point where I would wake up confused as to where I was despite the fact I was in my bedroom and the reason I was confused is because I was convinced I I've been gone doing something for 2 months and forgot that I still lived in this place. Now that was one of the more extreme versions but usually my dreams last so long and have such an emotional connection that they last longer than my awake to state does and they have more feeling than my wake state does which will definitely mess with your psyche. I can still lucid dream it will however and due to the emotional attachment and length of my dreams it's extremely exhausting so I really tried to avoid it at all costs so I don't wake up absolutely exhausted. And it has stayed in this state till today I still have these ridiculous emotional overly graphic extremely long dreams which have me on a regular basis avoiding sleep do to not wanting to experience having a dream. Quite annoying
