Best way to cleanse amethyst pendulum?

I read that amethyst will fade in the sun. Also, my pendulum told me white sage is not the answer either. How else can one cleanse amethyst? And how often should you cleanse your pendulum?

Cleanse and charge amethyst with moonlight. This is preferably done during the waxing phase for at least three consecutive nights, or best the nights the moon is full.
