Conscecrating items as a beginner???
Okay, so I am very new to Wicca and therefore I do not own any witchy items. Currently I am in the process of making my own book of shadows, but since it needs to be conscecrated I am at a loss of what to do. I'm 16, and I am practicing on my own, I can't buy any incense or distinguishable items because my parents are very much against anything that isn't Christian. And even if I was to be able to buy tools, wouldn't those need to be conscecrated too? I'm so confused, I would appreciate any help.

Some people are more strict about this kind of stuff than others. My perspective is that whatever feels right to you, is right. So if you want to create your own sort of process or ceremony to consecrate it, as long as it's meaningful to you, it will be effective. There are really no rules, it's just a matter of personal significance and meaning. If you have other questions feel free to PM me

Tools are merely objects without any power unless that power is bestowed on them by the Witch. If one cannot access tools than one can figure out a way to do a working without them.
On the other hand, one can also use found objects, Witchcraft is a nature religion, go for a walk. An acorn, a pine-cone, a stick or a stone are just a few things that could be consecrated to the use of magic and all one needs to cleanse, purify/consecrate an object is water and salt (or strong intent alone. Anyone telling you otherwise might be trying to sell you something)
I can't post links because at this point I have only 18 posts, LoL. But I have a useful link that might help you, I will PM you with further information.
