Members randomly sending PMs for help

I'm not sure if this in the rules (or recent) but I think I have read at some point that members are not to ask for readings via PM unless the reader has said so.

I recently got a random PM from someone whom I have never interacted with more or less 'demanding' me look at their situation and to give them a reading. To me, this isn't on, so yes I have forwarded it to an admin.

Usually I just delete such messages, but I think maybe people should know that this isn't acceptable behavior in my book.

I got a pm from someone asking for a reading. The message was long. It could be the same person. I kept the pm so if an admin wants it for a reference I can forward it.

If it's someone I have interacted with either on chat or a forum post, then I am happy to consider it.

I also got recently a request to do a reading by PM.

However, the person was very kind and friendly and we had a good discussion together on several topics later.

Hello,

Thanks for bringing it to our attention Fro. I do believe this person reached out to a number of people, and it is the same person many are questioning. I have had talks with this person in question and they apologized and won't do it again. Normally, they don't do that so that was a one time thing.

This happens often though with other members. A members will go into private message and seek advice or readings. It really should be avoided. The tarot readers on here especially do not like being contacted. You will see in some of their signatures to not contact them via PM. We really do encourage members to make threads out on open forum and not seek people out via PM. Plus, it's considered solicitation and even harassment. If this happens again, please message me or a staff member,

Kindest regards,
Clovers

I got one too. Long post wanting a romance/relationship reading. I'd never even heard of the person sending it. I ignored it. Glad someone thought to ask if it was against SF policy.

If I am chatting with someone and I feel it's personal I do offer to let them PM me. I think it's better that way.
