I was posting in here but the computer had to be restarted and it was lost.. which may be a good thing because I've watched a lottt of tv and listed tons of shows lol and wasn't done yet.
but instead of writing about every show I've ever watched or enjoyed, I'd like to write about some select ones that I think are either really awesome worthwhile mainstreamish shows, or else a more obscure less popularized show that was excellent and someone else may benefit from checking out!
As for my mainstream shows, well I consider myself a very non-mainstream gal, but what can I say I guess I am a sucker for a lot of popular tv shows, though there are some out there I would try very hard not to watch hehe..
o0oh first let me mention a few that I watched some seasons of but actually stopped a few years ago and have always wondered what others thought about the subsequent seasons and if it's worth reconvening them. I did love these shows a lot, but I may be much different now, and full disclosure don't/can't smoke pot now so that was possibly a factor of my enjoyment of them initially.. lol anyways, the shows I wonder about are
Vampire Diaries
Nashville
Originals
Deadwood
I loved what I saw but maybe the story lines were getting off, but the main thing is I had moved in with a man who wouldn't dare watch those kinds of shows..
Other mainstream shows that I loved, watched in entirety, and would recommend are
True Blood
The Good Wife
Suits (and some other lawyer shows)
Secret Circle
Justified
The Mentalist
Revenge
Haven
Dexter
Mad Men
Weeds
American Housewife
Last Man Standing
Bewitched
I Dream of Jeannie
there are many more but I'll stop there lol. I also love shows like Jeopardy, and certain cooking shows like Hell's Kitchen, Masterchef, Top Chef. Next Food Network Star, and restaurant makeover ones like Restaurant Impossible and Gordon Ramsay's new one
Now for some less popularized shows that I thought were amazing, if you're so inspired hopefully you'll be glad to check out these!
Eli Stone- about a lawyer who has some weird head accident and gets special powers
Pushing Up Daisies- about a pie shop owner who has power to raise dead with his touch, or reverse it by touching them again. it is very light and whimsical, there's an old friend/love interest from his past that he raises and can't touch again so she stays alive
Drop Dead Diva- about a model who dies and gets put into a lawyer's body, very fun but nice legal drama too which I love
Red Oaks- found on Amazon, about a country club in the 80s
Marvelous Miss Maisel- you may've heard of it since it got a lot of praise, on Amazon, took me a while to watch it but soooo glad I did
Good Girls- new show last year with red-haired lady from Mad Men, really good show about some housewives who get into trouble
Big Little Lies ~ new show on HBO with Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman. about mothers of families, interesting drama
ok I could go on but I won't though I might be back to add more later lol
Those of you sharing your shows, what do you like or love about them?
I've actually wished there was a spiritual kind of show that wasn't cheesy, and was entertaining but still at least a little enlightening..
lol I recently started watch the soap opera Days of Our Lives again on a guilty pleasure whim since I haven't watched it for like a decade or two.. it's been really enjoyable
