Color Celebrating Childhood Innocence

Here are some sweet/amusing childhood sayings - please feel free to add to them and share your similar experiences too.

Misquoted nursery rhymes
"Little Miss Muppet,
sat on her tuffet,
eating her curtain away..."

"Mary mary, quiet and hairy..."

Misquoted Lord's Prayer:
Our father
watch out in heaven

General Remarks
"When baby won't stop crying, mummy puts a plug in his mouth."
"Vicars don't laugh much because Jesus didn't tell many jokes."
"Why don't they give the footballers a ball each, then they wouldn't have to fight over it"
"Mum, if that stuff on your face is to make you more beautiful, when does it start to work?"
"Sometimes I help mummy work - I stay out of her way."
"When mummy wears a dress, she looks like a real person."

Eulogy for a hamster
Ashes to ashes,
dust to dust,
for richer for poorer
may the force be with you
because you're worth it
Amen and out.

(Incidentally - I've submitted a new poem today on innocence - in the poetry section. Also there will be T shirts and CD's in the foyer!)

Smile

Heard another one today:-

A boy went up to his grandmother and asked why she had wrinkles on her face. She replied that they were laughter lines. After a short pause, the boy announced "WELL, it must have been a really funny joke!"

My mother told me that when I was three, I tried to pull a few white whiskers off an old lady's face. I was upset because I thought she had a piece of cotton wool on her face and it wouldn't easily come off. Poor lady!

The first time I flew on a plane I was 4 or 5 years old and I was offended not to see any care bears in the clouds

Tammy, your one reminded me of another I heard....
when a little boy was caught letting a milk bottle slip and smash on the floor, he looked up at his mother and exclaimed "the bottle fainted!"

When i was little i wrote a letter to God and held it up to the ceiling waiting for Him/It to take it and broke down in tears thinking God didn't love me when no hand came through the ceiling....(and i had waited a while!)
